Incident Report Narrative Generator

What This Tool Does

S.I.R.S. is a narrative writing assistant that helps law enforcement officers structure and generate incident report narratives. It does not connect to, access, or interface with any law enforcement database, criminal justice information system, or records management system.

What Happens to Your Data

Information entered into this tool is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for the purpose of generating the requested narrative and independently verifying it against your input. It is not used for any purpose beyond producing and checking your report.

For accountability, S.I.R.S. keeps an immutable audit record for each finalized report: your original input, the generated narrative, the AI model name and version and the prompt version used, a timestamp, and your confirm-or-delete decisions on any statements the verification step flagged. This record is retained for as long as the report and cannot be edited or silently overwritten once the report has been finalized. No other record of your input is kept.

Third Party Services

This tool uses two external services: Anthropic Claude API for narrative generation, and CourtListener for statute verification. Both receive only the minimum information necessary to perform their function. Neither service retains submitted report data beyond the scope of the individual request.

No Guarantee of Legal Accuracy

S.I.R.S. is a writing assistance tool. The officer is solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legal sufficiency of any report submitted. Generated narratives should always be reviewed before submission. Statute codes are provided as reference only and should be verified independently before use in official proceedings.

Who Built This
